Chicago
like scantly clad women? like musicals? like the old timely Chicago? then you need to watch the movie Chicago (2002)
The Movie: Chicago (2002) Roxie (Renée Zellweger) shoots Fred Casely (Dominic West). After he takes advantage of her by lying that she could get a part in a theater show, in her anger she shoots him. She is put on murderess row run by the corrupt mama (Queen Latifah). Who connects her to a star studded lawyer Billy Fylnn (Richard Gere) a smooth talking lawyer that turns his clients into stars to gain public support for them including Amos ( John C. Reilly) who she tried to take the blame the killing on him that Fred was a bugler. During the final trail of her murder case Billy use tricks on witness to make them seem like they were wrong. even going to put in a false journal to accuse the other lawyer and also gets off another murderer Velma Kelly ( Catherine Zeta-Jones) a showgirl who killed her sister and lover because she was jealous. After getting off Roxie attempts to get back into shows and in the end gets with Velma to make the best show-pair in the city making thousands. All this time every time a big events happens or a new character is introduced a musical with a bunch of half-naked women get on stage and sing about whats happening.
My View: this movies main message in this movie is how corrupt the times were in the 20's Chicago. Mama would give you anything as long as you paid her an amount of money. Billy the lawyer as long as you paid him his $5,000 he would get you off no matter what you did or how bad he had to be to do it. And Amos the only innocent man in the whole movie gets used multiple times to Roxie's benefit, just to be left in the end with nothing. In the end the musicality and dance added a nice flair to the movie and explained things in a different way and it exposed true feeling by the characters and the characters themselves.
